Caring Hearts Senior Care was brought to life by two high school students, Morgan Beasley and Mithra Selvam, at the young age of 16. Their journey began with a shared passion for the medical field, as they dedicated their time to volunteering with patients every week.
During the summer before their junior year, something truly transformative happened. Mithra decided to pursue becoming a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), immersing herself in the world of caregiving. In doing so, she formed close, meaningful connections with many elderly individuals. Her experiences moved her deeply, and she couldn't wait to share them with her close friend, Morgan.
As they sat down to talk, Morgan revealed a similar experience. Spending the summer with her grandmother, she had the unique opportunity to communicate with her grandmother's friends. The exchange of wisdom, engaging stories, and the sense of connection were incredibly refreshing and life-changing for both of them.
Feeling inspired and recognizing the value of intergenerational communication, Morgan and Mithra brainstormed ideas that would bring joy and positivity into the lives of senior citizens. They wanted to share these experiences with their fellow students, empowering them to connect with elderly individuals in their community.
Their vision took shape as they approached local nursing homes, discussing their ideas with administrators and staff. One of their thoughtful initiatives was the "Paper Hearts and Crafts Movement," where students created heartfelt crafts and handwritten notes to give to senior citizens, spreading love and kindness.
Determined to reach even more students and foster community involvement, Morgan and Mithra collaborated with their high school's HOSA (Health Occupations Students of America) and IB (International Baccalaureate) programs, as well as the National Honor Society. Together, they worked passionately to expand their organization and encourage more students to join their noble cause.
With each Paper Heart and every heartfelt interaction, Caring Hearts Senior Care thrived, bridging the gap between generations and promoting the well-being of senior citizens. Morgan and Mithra's dedication and compassion sparked a chain reaction, inspiring countless others to follow in their footsteps and make a difference in the lives of those who have walked before them. Their journey is just beginning, and the impact of their organization would continue to grow, weaving together the threads of compassion and understanding to create a stronger, more caring community for all.
